§ 2-131. Duties.

  • The county administrator shall perform the following duties:

    (1)

    Be responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of the business office of the board of commissioners located in the courthouse.

    (2)

    Act as a liaison between the board of commissioners and other elected officials and governmental entities.

    (3)

    Supervise and carry out such policies and procedures as may from time to time be established or promulgated by the board of commissioners.

    (4)

    Maintain close contact and communication with the members of the board of commissioners and shall obtain the approval of a majority of the members of the board prior to taking any action that might in any manner be an exception to existing rules, policies and procedures.

    (5)

    Coordinate the activities of the other department heads of the county so as to ensure efficient and economical operation of county government and the maintenance of county services.

    (6)

    Work diligently to secure for the county such grants and other funds as may become available that could be used for the benefit of the county and its citizens.

    (7)

    Supervise and administer the disposition and expenditure of such grant funds as may be obtained.

    (8)

    Make such reports to the board of commissioners as it may from time to time require, but no less than at each regular meeting, and such reports shall be sufficiently detailed so that the commissioners will be fully and completely aware of the status of all county business.

    (9)

    Obtain whatever information the board requests for the purpose of allowing the board to plan and evaluate future county projects.

    (10)

    Report no less than bimonthly, either formally or informally, to each member of the commission as to the financial status of the county.
