§ 2-1. Use of county property generally.

  • (a)

    The use of county buildings and property will be restricted to county-related activities and nonprofit uses. The county board of commissioners will set policies of use for all buildings, such as policies relating to food, smoking, etc. Requests for permission to use county property will be submitted to the board of commissioners with the following information:

    (1)

    Date the property is requested.

    (2)

    Purpose of use.

    (3)

    Responsible individual.

    (4)

    Sponsor group.

    (b)

    The board of commissioners will consider requests for rental of county buildings and property depending upon space available at the time of request and the nature of use. Commissioners will set all fees and determine policies and procedures to be adhered to by any and all tenants, such as policies relating to written leases, janitorial service, fire insurance, etc. The tenant must sign an agreement, in case handicapped employees are involved, that the tenant will be responsible for their access to and from the ground floor to the floor of employment if rented space is in the county office building.

    (c)

    Any change or addition to space being rented must be approved by the board of commissioners prior to any renovation or acquisition of other space.
