§ 22-1. Operation of rural volunteer fire departments.

  • The following minimum requirements must be met by all rural volunteer fire departments in which county funds or equipment is or may be involved:

    (1)

    Fire defenses and equipment training is required at least once each month.

    (2)

    A general membership meeting shall be held at least once each quarter (three months).

    (3)

    No alcoholic beverages are to be allowed on the property.

    (4)

    The elected fire chief is to be responsible for any county property on the site.

    (5)

    The county commissioners will communicate directly with the chief of each department.

    (6)

    Election of the fire chief and other officers must be held at a general membership meeting, and the procedures set out in Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised are to be complied with.
